How To Make Money With Affiliate Links On Pinterest

Did you know that you can create passive income without having a blog? All you need is a Pinterest account and some affiliate products to promote! Read on to learn how to make money with affiliate links on Pinterest!

Pinterest is a great platform for making money! To get started, you’ll need to sign up for a free business profile with Pinterest and verify your website. Once that’s done, you can create pins for products or services you want to promote. Make sure to include content relevant to the pin (such as a title and descriptions) and great graphics so that it stands out from other pins on the platform. You can also utilize hashtags and keywords to help improve visibility and gain new followers.

Affiliate marketing is truly the easiest way to jumpstart your income if you are just starting out in the online income world. You can make money promoting all kinds of products on Pinterest and get paid commission while you sleep. Let’s get into the basics of this easy way to start marketing online!

This post contains affiliate links and I could earn a commission at no cost to you if you make a purchase using them.

What is Pinterest?

First, let’s talk about Pinterest itself. Pinterest isn’t really a social network in the same way as Facebook. It is more of a visual search engine that people browse to get inspiration for, well, anything really.

A Pinterest pin is the same as a post on the other social media networks. Content creators add new pins to their Pinterest accounts with links back to their websites, blogs or social media channels or stores.

A Pinterest Board is where a user saves related ideas onto a “board” to keep them grouped together.

The optimal Pinterest pin size is 1000 x 1500 px.

Some business and blogging niches can achieve Pinterest success through uploading simple photos. Most need a little more effort and strategy.

Affiliate Links in Pinterest

In the same way, affiliate marketers can use Pinterest to add product pins to Pinterest with their unique affiliate link attached to offers from brands.

Here is a break down of some of the basics of using affiliate links on Pinterest:

Pinterest allows pinners to add direct affiliate links to their pins instead of having to go through a blog which is amazing!.

This is great because it means that you can market to the over 450 million monthly active users-for free! That is an amazing form of marketing!

While the use of affiliate links on Pinterest has been around for a long time, the Pinterest algorithm has changed a lot so it is important to know how to take advantage of the opportunity the right way. First off, graphics tend to get more clicks than simple photos.

Just like with any social media post, Pinterest is built on visual content and you have to have great content in order for people to notice your pins. Fortunately, you can create awesome pins using a free program like Canva.

What is Canva?

Canva is a free tool (there is a paid version as well) that helps you design many different kinds of graphics without having any graphic design experience. If you don’t have a Canva account, I highly suggest that you sign up for one to save your designs because-well, why not make it easy?!

You can make tons of things with Canva such as:

  • Flyers
  • Logos
  • Newsletters
  • Infographics
  • Banners
  • Business cards
  • Business cards
  • Pins!
  • Posts
  • eBooks
  • Presentations
  • Flyers
  • Posters

So, open Canva and just click Create a design in the top right-hand corner.

Select Pinterest pin – you’ll see a blank design screen 1000 x 1500 px in size. Perfect!

Just play around with the stock images. Drag and drop, type some text, change colors. It is really quite intuitive.

I recommend pinning at least 5 times a day. It sounds like alot but once you get it down it takes minutes to create a Pin and you can use the same one multiple times by just changing a few things. You can also purchase pin templates in for Canva on Etsy to save time!

When you have Pins ready, link them to your store, blog, business or whatever you want to promote. You can link as many Pins as you want to each location. So if you want 100 Pins going to your social media account or affiliate offer, you can do that!

Consistency

Consistency is indeed crucial when it comes to implementing a monetization strategy. By consistently creating high-quality content, you increase your chances of success and maximize the potential returns on your efforts. Here are a few reasons why consistency is key:

  1. Audience Engagement: Regularly producing content keeps your audience engaged and coming back for more. It builds anticipation and helps establish a loyal following. When people know they can rely on you for fresh and valuable content, they are more likely to stay connected and support your monetization efforts.

  2. Trust and Credibility: Consistency demonstrates professionalism and reliability. When you consistently deliver quality content, you build trust and credibility with your audience. They perceive you as an expert or a reliable source of information, which enhances your reputation and makes them more likely to engage with your monetization efforts.

  3. Algorithmic Benefits: In the online world, algorithms play a significant role in determining visibility and reach. Consistent content creation signals to algorithms that you are an active and relevant creator, increasing the chances of your content being recommended to a wider audience. This can lead to more exposure, increased traffic, and ultimately better monetization opportunities.

  4. Brand Building: Consistency is a key element in brand building. By consistently delivering content aligned with your brand’s values, tone, and style, you create a cohesive brand image and voice. This strengthens your brand identity and helps you stand out in a crowded digital landscape. A strong brand attracts more loyal followers and opens up avenues for monetization, such as sponsorships and collaborations.

  5. Learning and Growth: Consistent content creation allows you to continually improve and grow as a creator. The more you create, the more you learn about your audience’s preferences, refine your skills, and experiment with different monetization strategies. By staying committed to producing content regularly, you gain valuable insights and adapt to the evolving needs and interests of your audience.

Remember, the path to monetization may vary depending on your platform, niche, and audience. Experimentation and adaptation are also key factors in finding what works best for you. Stay dedicated, focus on delivering quality content, and adjust your strategy based on feedback and data. With consistency, persistence, and a commitment to excellence, your monetization efforts are more likely to pay off in the long run!

I started Social Kelli as more of a journal than a blog and realized that it could also speak to other women like me leading normal yet unique lives. Women like me, who are not celebrities but are creative, intentional, mature yet experimental, constantly evolving, (over)thoughtful, engaged where they want to be, decidedly disconnected from the noise and of course, purposely comfortable with who they are…
